PostgreSQL · MCPA PostgreSQL MCP server your AI agents can use safely

HornetHive speaks the Model Context Protocol. Point Claude, Cursor or any MCP client at it with an API key and the agent can create PostgreSQL databases, read their tables and schemas, and fetch connection strings on Pro, limited to exactly what the key allows.

Connect an agent

MCP runs over Streamable HTTP at /mcp, authenticated with a HornetHive API key:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "hornethive": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://hornethive.io/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <api key>" }
    }
  }
}

The tools an agent gets

  • list_databases, get_database and list_regions: see what exists and where it can go.
  • create_database and delete_database: provision a database in the region you name, or drop one (write keys for all databases only).
  • get_connection_string: hand the agent a connection string for the code it writes (plans with direct connections).
  • list_tables and describe_table: read the schema, columns, types and keys, before writing a query.
  • get_database_stats: size, tables and connections.
  • sync_graphql: make new tables available over GraphQL.

Scoped so it cannot surprise you

An agent only touches what its key allows. A read key cannot create or delete anything; a key limited to one database cannot see the others. Revoke a key and the agent is cut off at once. Queries themselves go through the REST and GraphQL APIs, with the same keys and the same limits.

Which plans include it

MCP is included on Starter (RM 7 a month, billed yearly) and Pro (RM 29 a month, billed yearly).

Questions

What is MCP?+

The Model Context Protocol, an open standard for connecting AI assistants to tools and data. Claude, Cursor and other clients support it.

Can an agent run arbitrary SQL over MCP?+

No. MCP covers databases and their schemas; queries go through REST or GraphQL with the key you choose.

Does it work with Claude Code?+

Yes. Add it as an HTTP MCP server with your API key in the Authorization header.
